Migraine Research Grant Awarded to Cincinnati Children's

Posted Jan 11 2012 12:00am

CinciChildrens Migraine is a tough disease for anyone, but especially for children. This is compounded by a lack of effective treatments, and there has been little research funding available to address these issues.

The good news is that Andrew Hershey, MD, PhD, and Scott Powers, PhD, who co-direct the Headache Center at Cincinnati Children's will be leading a five-year study on preventive treatments for children and adolescents. The study will be conducted at up to 40 sites across the United States and will be funded by a $12 million grant from the National Institutes of Health.

For more information about this grant as well as how such research is funded, see Cincinnati Children's Awarded NIH Grant for Migraine Trial .
