I have a painful lump in the back of my head. could it be serious?

This pain never seems to go away, and the lump is slightly painful to the touch.

Please help?

Statistically, it's unlikely to be serious, but this lump should be checked out by your doctor. It could be a cyst or any number of things. It's impossible to tell you much more via the Internet. Please play it safe and see your doctor?

You really haven't given enough information to determine what this is or whether it is serious. As Teri said, it is probably not, but it should be checked out.
