How about migraines and diphenhydramine (benedryl)? Quite by accident (I was looking for a sleep aid for long airplane flights), I have concurred that generic diphenhyramine helps prevent the onset of migraines during the prodome period and lessens the effects and duration of the headache period if taken with some acetominophen. My own empirical "research" has led me to conclude that taking an allegy medicine like diphenhydramine limits the response due to food allergies. In other words, form me, it appears that food allergies like chocolate and fish can trigger migraines. The diphenhydramines helps in most cases. I am down to one miled migraine per month rather than 1-2 per week. Hope this helps someone. BTW, DPH can make you sleepy, but I found that by taking 25mg 2-3 times per day and 50mg at betime has given me a resistance to the sleep effects, but has not lessen the desired anti-histamine quality. One more thing, DPH is CHEAP! I can get 400 25mg tablets for $4 at Sam's Club or Costco. Hope this helps someone. This cheap and safe drug has done wonders for me. Regards, Eddie
