Feeling a little lack-lustre? A little stuck or down-in-the-dumps? Want some creative fun?
Today I am announcing something guaranteed to get your creative juices flowing:
The Word Sauce Words and Pictures Challenge
Here’s how it works.
1. Dig out your camera. Yes, that one that you’re always forgetting to take with you. The one that is lying unloved in your desk drawer.
2. Upload the photo to Flickr. If you haven’t yet been to Flickr, the fabulous photo-sharing site, you have a real treat in store for you. You can ogle millions of beautful photographs taken by people all over the world and search through them according to themes, tags, geographical places, etc.
It’s very easy to set up an account online. You can use your real name or a pseudonym and it is absolutely FREE!
…and then add some ‘word sauce’ in the photo title. Season with a spicy adjective or two, some juicy free-associations, a single deliciously round noun… just whatever takes your fancy.
Stir, serve, share.
Postings from the group will appear daily in the group badge on the right-hand side of my web site pages and also over at my Word Sauce site.
I will also feature people’s words and pictures in this blog from time to time.
Let me just add here that I have no idea about taking photos. I have just bought myself a little point-and-shoot Sony Cybershot that does it all for me… kind of… And I have rediscovered my old Flickr account.
I have added a couple of my own rather blurrily beautiful pictures - and I’ll be adding lots more over the next few weeks and months.
I believe that we cannot truly connect with our creativity unless we are prepared to get things wrong, make mistakes and learn as we go. So that’s what I’ll be doing.
Want to join me?
To help you get started, I am going to announce a theme for the next few weeks. The theme is:
What do you find delicious? What gets your mouth watering? Take a look around you. What do you see today that feeds you with gratitude and good feelings, makes your spine tingle, your feet tap, your heart sing and remember just how wonder-ful it is to be alive?
