Stress can really bring out my depression. With that in mind, it's really important to for me to deal with stress quickly and effectively before it makes my depression get out of hand.
Right now, I'm stressed. Stressed by tantrums, lack of sleep and trying to get my work done for the newspaper in the time of cutbacks.
I've found running outdoors to be a very effective way to release the stress caused by my kids being kids. Unfortunately, my husband is out of town, making it difficult to run outside. I could run at the gym today, but my right shin feels a little sore and I don't want to make it any worse before the Sun Run on Sunday. So I'm going to have to figure out a new way to relieve that stress today.
I went to bed early last night to try to alleviated the lack of sleep stressor, and it seemed to work. I'm feeling rested today.
Lastly, I'm stressed about work. I have a number of things to get done and feel a little crunched for time. People aren't calling me back regarding their interviews and I can't do anything about that. So I guess I'll just have to find a way to relax while still working on it.
