Hi,
I had something similar but never went to the extent of wearing a mask. I just didn't leave the house because I thought I was hideous. Which wasn't really true. It was in my head.
There is a name for this: Body Dysmorhic Disorder. He just might have this.
It tends to repond well to SSRI's and is treatable.
But ofcourse he needs to see a psychiatrist.

I don't know what the problem is but he is afraid to go out in public, he will if he wears this man'made mask. This only draws more attention to him and causes social problems. I have seen similar cases on TV but don't know the name and need some info to help him cope or get him some help.
