Mid-Night Insanity - Helping a NUT JOB!
Sorry about missing the cartoon today! Last night my 3 year old fell and hit her head real bad. I won’t get into the rest because you’re not here for that. But I will tell you, she is fine and is jumping and playing with the other kids like nothing ever happened. We will pick up on the second cartoon for the medication competition on Monday.
So, yes that is me nursing the squirrel! For city slickers, we always had a lot of animals around. Our family was known as the Doctor Dolittles of the area. Whenever an animal was in need of help, some one would be knocking on our door. The funny thing is the types on animals we helped save many of you might just ask, “why bother?” Since most of them, are more like pests than pets, right? Our list is quite long but I’ll shorten it. We have saved pigeons, squirrels, skunks, possums, Blue Jays, cats, dogs, mice, hamsters, and a few ducks. Now if you’re from the south, you just might laugh at our list but remember they were our native animals…
Down here in Florida, I have had the chance to help some cool, real animals out. Pelicans, turtles, tortoises, sea gulls, and even a cool 5 foot long rat snake… Well, I did not help it. I more or less ran after it and caught it to play with. Good thing I knew it was a rat snake. The way it curled up and stuck its head up, it almost looking like a rattler. But the checkered belly gave it away.
I would love to hear from you! Have you ever helped an animal? Feel free to tell us about it.
