Do people with psychosis always loose touch with reality?

Posted by Carole H.

I have been diagnosed with psychosis.  I see and hear things that are not there;but, I don't loose touch with reality.  I mean i know they are not real.  Everything i read talks about disconnecting from the world.

Generally, psychosis is losing touch with reality to some degree, such as disturbed, confused, and disrupted patterns of thought.

Your experience is more common than that of those who completely lose connection ro reality. Most people with psychosis still understand and relate to the real world to some degree.
