The Connection Between Estrogen And Weight Loss

Article by Crissi

Estrogen is in both males and females, however women obviously have much higher estrogen than men. The problem comes in when the estrogen levels are too high and this can make losing weight difficult. In men high estrogen can cause problems with losing weight and gaining muscle. In women high estrogen will cause women to look bloated and soft, plus it builds a wall against losing weight too. There does need to be a balance when it comes to estrogen, when this is out of balance for any reason, weight can be gained and it can be hard to lose the weight too. High estrogen levels has always been a problem throughout history. There is historical data that shows that as far backs as the Greeks, there was concern with estrogen levels and gynecomastia. This means women and breasts and since estrogen is very connected too breast tissue, this is where women breasts do grow, however too much estrogen can also allow a man’s breasts to grow too. This is a fat formation that happens in the body when there is too much estrogen and there is even evidence of surgical procedures back than that removed this fat tissue. Also, low testosterone levels, coupled with high levels of estrogen will create high levels of fat, lose of muscle and an increase in breast tissue too.Increased hormones begins in puberty and than changes as we get older. In puberty the increased levels of estrogen and testosterone create acne, growth, retaining fluids and weight gain. However, even when we age these imbalances in the hormones can still have the same results, except that as we get older it becomes even harder to maintain a balance and lose the weight once it has been gained. However, there are ways to control estrogen levels and keep them lower where they need to be. There is no need to take chemicals, such as steroids to bring down the estrogen levels. These are dangerous and have even worse side effects that are also more permanent. Instead it is a better idea to use powerful anti estrogen foods, such as vegetables that have the highest levels of compounds to help with this problem. Another great inhibitor is calcium. Calcium helps to inhibit the enzymes that create estrogen and these are then eliminated through the body. There are plenty of foods that have calcium in them, so there is no reason to only drink milk. Yogurt, cheeses, cottage cheese, orange juice and other foods all have calcium that will help block increased estrogen levels. There are also all natural supplements that can also be used to lower estrogen levels too. These are safe, all natural and very effective as well when it comes to lowering the estrogen levels in the body. Plus, use zinc and flax seed oil too in foods and meals to further reduce the levels as well.No matter what is used, it is best to stay with natural and whole foods to lower the estrogen levels, while losing weight and gaining muscle too.
