Slight bloody tint to orgasmic secretions

Posted by schmittie

I have been experiencing small amounts of blood while, and shortly after having orgasim. I am 60 and curious as to the possible cause. It is bright in color and as I said very slight. No pain before, during or after.

Thank you.

Dear Schmittie,

The vaginal lining thins as we age and as our hormone levels fall, so there can be micro tears in the lining during sexual intercourse, which can bleed. Since bleeding can also herald more serious conditions as well, so it is a good idea to see your MD or healthcare practitioner to get checked out.
