I'm glad people are FINALLY talking about it. It's been this "shocking" topic recently, but older people with EDs are absolutely nothing new! It's just now people are talking more and studying EDs in depth, and find that it's NOT just for teenagers "going through a phase." That being said, I knew several women while in treatment for anorexia nervosa, who were in their 40s, 50s, and one was 63 years old. The latter mentioned is now 65 years old, and still struggles very deeply with the ED and self-harm, both issues once thought to be solely the problems of teenagers and adolescents.
