I need a little more info to answer you. Because you mention periods, I am guessing that you have not gone through Menopause yet? Or you have and you are on hormone therapy?
If you've not gone through Menopause, this spotting could be the first harbinger of perimenopause and could be normal. Also, fibroids tend to grow during perimenopause and recede again after Menopause.
Spotting and bleeding can also be harbingers of other, more serious conditions or signal a need for change in hormone therapy if you are taking HRT. To be sure, see your MD to be checked out.
Keep us posted on your progress.
All my best,
Lynette Sheppard RN Health Maven, Menopause Community
