We don't define someone as post-menopausal until she has gone without a period for 12 months so don't be surprised if your menses remain irregular for a while longer.  However, menopausal symptoms of hot flashes & night sweats may preceed cessation for quite some time.  The enlarged ovarian cyst has nothing to do w/your menses or menopausal state.  As long as it doesn't cause you any pain, you can safely monitor and even ignore it.

I should mention that once you've gone 12 months without menstruating, you'll need to go see your family physician again if you notice new spotting, eg post-menopausal bleeding, as this is the first sign of endometrial (uterine) cancer.  So don't ignore spotting (and chalk it up to getting younger) if you've gone 12 months without.  Talk to your family physician for more details.  Good luck!
