Some of you may know, if you visit The Perimenopause Blog, that I have been working through a book entitled Screaming to Be Heard : Hormone Connections Women Suspect and Doctors Still Ignore, by Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet.
So far, I’ve reviewed one chapter which dealt with the effect estrogen loss has on your moods in perimenopause. If you haven’t read the post, be sure and check it out. Screaming to Be Heard is an excellent book that details in an easy to understand format, exactly what happens to the female brain during menopause.
I was recently contacted by the author of another book, Female Brain Gone Insane: An Emergency Guide for Women Who Feel Like They Are Falling Apart, asking me if I would be interested in receiving a copy, looking over it and perhaps discussing on my blog. Since I already have one book review going at The Perimenopause Blog, I thought I might work through this book as well here at The Magnolia Diaries.
In my side bar you can find a video that the author of the book, Mia Lundin has done, discussing the book and how it was born out of her personal experience. Mia is a registered nurse and nurse practitioner who is also the founder and director of The Center for Hormonal and Nutritional Balance, Inc.
Please know that as I read through this book, discuss and review it, that I’m not endorsing anything. However, given my proclivity towards more natural, holistic approache to perimenopause overall, my initial thoughts are I will probably like this book. I plan to read through it this week and will give you my complete thoughts on it when I’m done.
As always, you can find it in my sidebar and can purchase it at Amazon if you so desire. In the meantime, check out the video that I’ve posted as well. It adds another dimension to the book review.
