The Best Healthcare Reform: Education and Prevention

By: Trina Becksted and Taylor Maguire for Holistic Healing News

It could not be any more accurate – we should all take matters into our own hands and be more proactive about our health.  I had this same epiphany the other day when I realized that I didn’t have to worry about the outcome of this debate, because armed with great information and a lot of smart individuals around me, I am learning how to optimize my health and live better, longer.  I’ve been surrounded by experts in bioidentical hormones for a little over a year now and I’ve learned so much about preventive health care – I’ve lost a little over 20 lbs, my hair is growing longer and healthier, my nails are growing faster and stronger, my overall mood and energy level have improved and all because of supplementation and better eating habits, including relaxation techniques like yoga and meditation, along with laughter.  Yes – a lot of laughing at myself and at life – I always say: Carpe diem! Treat others the way you’d like to be treated.  Treat yourself with respect and admiration.  Have fun!  And … Stay positive!  But best of all, stop and smell the roses.  Live a purposeful, meaningful, and mindful life.
For a little information about hormone harmony and the positive impact on your whole self… I hope you’ll read the first chapter of Dr. Stanton’s Hormone Harmony… let me know what you think… This was the last book I read that truly changed my life – my understanding of the inner workings of my body.  Amazing to understand what the choices we make mean for our health.  Our grandmothers really were right; an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

P.S.  If you weren’t working, like I wasn’t, - on Monday morning (yay for vacation!) … and you were able to catch the doctors… they had great information about eating for longevity [by the way, if I haven't shared with you yet, my plan is to live until I'm 123!] … anyway, they offered more confirmation that eating smaller, more frequent meals is much healthier than 2-3 bigger meals that are spread apart further.  They talked about failing to plan versus planning to fail… if we plan our meals for the week and do some prep on Sundays, we can remove the possibilities of filling our bodies with all those toxic foods found in the vending machines, sodas, and food from takeout places.  The less time we spend failing to plan, the more likely we are to be successful at maintaining a healthy weight because we are giving our bodies the right ‘inputs’…
