Dear Jenluedke498,
I'm not sure what that level means - and it should definitely be retested in case there was a laboratory error. You may need adjustment of your HRT dosage if your estrogen levels are that high. Discuss it with your MD, as blood test results can be taken out of context and need to be correlated with physical exam, symptoms, etc.
Good luck - let us know how it goes.

I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago at the age of 26. No ovaries left, complete hysterectomy. I have been on hormone replacement therapy ever since. I am currently on estrace 2mg. I've been on that dose for two years now. I've recently been experiencing hot flashes while taking my meds (I have not missed a single dose ever) and saw my OB about the hot flashes. He ordered blood work a week ago and I got the results yesterday. The estradiol and another hormone level were normal for Pre menopause (I'm post menopause) but my estrogen level (which the nurse told me normal estrogen level was between 4 and 32) was 476. My doctor has ordered another test in a month but I would like to know what this high number means. Do you know?
