Hormonal imbalance can cause a number of symptoms linked to depression such as sleep disturbances, irritability, loss of interest and sadness. It depends on the degree to which this interferes with daily life whether professional help is needed.
Example: feeling sad, weepy for no reason, lack of energy can be normal.
Unable to get out of bed or perform activities of daily living - professional help is needed.
As for delusions, those are not typical for Menopause. However, again it is a matter of degree. Worrying that people are talking about you? Probably normal. Believing folks are out to get you or wish you harm? It might be time to see a mental health professional.
Unsure as to whether this is hormonal or something more? Seeing a professional can help you sort it out.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
