Hi Sapphyre,
It certainly sounds like perimenopause - the stage before menopause, which actually refers to a full year with no period. The only way to be sure is to have your hormone levels checked - either via blood test or saliva testing. Your physician can order those for you. Also there is an over the counter test marketed by Estroven - I have not heard how good it is.
Good luck - may you never have hot flashes.
All my best,

Dear Sapphyre,
I'm not sure - be best to ask your MD about that one. I've not heard of that as a side effect with steroids, but growing facial hair and some other hormonal symptoms I have heard of with longer term steroid use definitely.
Again, I think hormone testing will be of help to narrowing this down for you.
Keep us posted!
All my best,

I am 49 and for the past 3 months my periods have been either late or when it did start I bleed for almost 8 day instead of my usual 5 days. And recently I wake up with night sweats, my hair and top of my night clothes are damp. Is this something I need to worry about? I have never had a heat flash yet, I have heard of them but thank God I havent had any as of yet.
