White heads are typically either cysts or pimples.  The former shouldn't be painful, assuming that they're small although larger ones can hurt (until the pressure is released via incision & drainage).  Pimples are pus-filled infections.  Larger collections are called abscesses.  I suppose some white spots could be warts.  These could definitely bleed upon picking & removing them.  Go see you family physician for a diagnosis & management.
