Went to a doctor to have an abdominal protusion diagnosed. Thought it was a hernia. His opinion was that it was a fatty tumor - but when getting up from the table, he diagnosed the large buldge in the midline of by body - from below the rib cage to just below the belly button, as my having a ventral hernia. In the ensuing discussion, indicated that since there would be a large scar from the surgery and I am slightly overwieght, I may want to have a lap band done at the same time. All of which could be arranged through his office. And was rather disparaging about the surgery for the umbical hernia I had performed several years ago.
Just want another opinion to ensure I'm not being upsold, but don't know the type of spicialist to look up in my insurnace provider directory.
