swelling of the glands under & at the base of the tongue?

Posted by Christy

My boyfriend is having a problem with the base of his tongue swelling & being sore. Now, this morning there are glands under his tongue right at his front teeth that are very swollen. His neck is also somewhat swollen. But no fever or anyother symptoms.

Swelling under the base of the tongue can be caused by allergic reactions, oral herpes simplex virus infection, canker sores, tuberculosis, bacterial infections, or early-stage syphilis.

Swelling can also be caused by allergies or other immune system disorders.

He should seek the advice of a doctor, lab testing and a exam about his tongue and glands swelling.
