Sore testicles

Posted by Josh W.

Hello,

About every month or so, my testes get really sore, even to the touch before I urinate.  After urination, it appears like a small amount of semen comes out.  A few minutes later, the pain subsides.  Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Symptoms are of Congestive Prostatitis or other condition.

At the end of urination, as the bladder is emptying out the last few drops of urine, it actually squeezes the prostate gland.  If the prostate is congested, you will then note this fluid at the end of urination.  With congestive prostatitis discomfort is often referred to the testicles, groin, low back or rectal area.  This pain in the testicles is denoted by the slang terms: “blue balls” or “lover’s nuts”.

Irritating urinary symptoms may also occur.  In some patients, only the discharge is noted.

Sitting in a warm bathtub for 10-15 minutes daily will provide some relief.  Chronic congestion of the prostate gland can lead to an inflammation of the prostate, so called prostatitis.

Because of your persistent symptoms, consultation and lab testing with a urologist should be scheduled.

Makes sense due to the fact that I'm married :)

Thanks!
