Small spots

Posted by akhunter02

Approximatly 23 days after having sex with a new girl friend, I noticed 4 small (size of a small freckle) redish brown spots on the side of my penis, within a couple days of noticing them the skin above them dried and then peeled.  No itching, no pain, no fluid and not raised.  I started using baby loation in the shower and with in 2 days you couldnt tell anything was ever there.   Then a week later one more showed up in a different spot with the same thing progression.  What could this be?

Men are understandably concerned when they notice spots on the penis. They are frequently worried they may have a sexually transmitted disease, some form of cancer or infection.

Spots on the penis are very common and most do not have a serious cause. However, some do and it is important to seek prompt medical advice from a doctor if you are concerned.

Spots on the penis can be divided into groups according to their appearance.

    * Ulcers: ulcers appear as craters on the skin and represent a full-thickness loss of skin (epidermis). There is frequently a crust, clear liquid (serum) or pus in the crater.
    * Papules: papules are small (less than 1cm diameter) lesions (lumps) raised above the skin surface.
    * Plaques: plaques are raised, flat-topped lesions, greater than 1cm in diameter.
