Raw Eggs Health Benefits: And the story of 'Whey'…

Nutrition is a field that has been pervaded by rumor. What's good today is anything but good enough tomorrow. Perhaps this is due to the fact that there are developments that occur at break neck speed, and throw new light on foods that are ascertained to be good or not.
The truth is that there's very little that we know about when it comes to health, even though it seems that way. Take for example, the by-product of cheese. Yes, we're talking about whey.
Until a few decades ago, it was considered a waste product and when someone discovered that it was almost complete in its protein content, it has become a must-have for every bodybuilder these days.
Speaking of protein content, eggs (especially when consumed) have been also considered to be one of the best foods available.
Raw Eggs – A Health Risk
It was an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis that started this rumor. Raw eggs, a heath risk? Is this a joke or something?
While there's nothing funny about food poisoning, statistics reveal that the fears behind this "raw eggs are unhealthy" paradigm are baseless because it is only one in thirty thousand eggs that contain this virus.
But the kicker is that one can only get food poisoning (or eggs with this virus) if they are reared in an environment that is considered to be harmful to poultry, so all this should tell you is that you can circumvent this problem by purchasing eggs that are obtained from 'cage-free' and 'organically-fed' chickens.
And now we've gotten that out of the way, let's look at the health benefits of raw eggs.
Benefits of Raw Eggs
Perhaps one of the first benefits can be gleaned from the comparison between cooked and raw eggs. And perhaps most bodybuilders and athletes prefer it in its raw form because when cooking it, most of the nutrients are broken down as a result.
So in consuming it raw, one can safely assume that one can get all the nutrients along with the all-important nutrient of protein in its complete form.
Yet another mistaken rumor is the fact that you can get cholesterol if you consume eggs either raw or cooked but the truth is that you need the 'good fats' present in eggs, and this is definitely a myth. These good fats will do anything but harm to your body if you understand what they are.
And one of the biggest benefits of eating raw eggs is that your immune system gets stronger with each passing day, yet there's one thing that you must keep in mind when you eat raw eggs is the fact that you must have both the yolk and the egg white as well.
How to Consume Raw Eggs
Three eggs is a decent limit in order to consume and the best way to do this is by breaking them into a glass, covering your nostril and drinking it whole.
A couple of things that one must watch out for is to store them in a cool place and to get rid of the ones that are cracked. Finally, there's no need to blend them with anything as eggs are tasteless and easy to swallow.
And there's no harm in trying whey either as this 'waste product' is just as good.
