I have been experiencing pain and swelling armpits for a couple years or more. Also pain and swelling in the back of my neck and my groin area which has been worse for the last 3 months. Also I have a pain in my right front side at the bottom of my rib cage and in the right side of my back. I also have never ending ringing sounds in my ears. I have severe pain in my feet, legs, hips especially if I stand for more than a couple minutes. I previously had a bells palsy stroke. I gave in and went to the doctor a little over a year ago and he said I had pnuemonia, he sent me for a bone scan and an MRI on my brain. Then he sent me to an arthritus doctor. They did some blood work , x rays and a nerve conduction test. I was diagnosed with degenerative arthritus, bone spurs on my spine, and 2 basal cell carcinoma cancers which they removed from my nose. I asked them about the pain in my armpits and they told it was probably the arthritus. They never checked for anything internal except thru bloodwork. I haven't had an MRI except on my head. They did ask me if I wanted a colonoscopy and which I decided not to do. I haven't been to the doctor since the side pain and the pain and swelling in my neck and groin has gotten worse. I had to cancel my insurance because I can no longer afford it. My wife has been noticing a very bad odor she thinks is coming from my lungs. She compared the smell to a person we know who as a cancer on his head the size of a tennis ball. I had a bad cold about 3 months ago and I still cough up phlem. The doctor told me several months ago I needed to apply for disabilty. I am a graphic artist and I have been working at home for the last 8 months but it is getting harder to sit at my desk and work. I forgot to mention I also have glaucoma and I am legally blind in one eye and have lost some of my field of vision in the other. I am over 50 with arthritus so I expected to live with pain, but I am afraid that most of my problems now could be something different. Without insurance though I guess its pointless to worry about something I cant do anything about. I still owe $1600 to the doctors for the surgery on my nose. I went to them to try and find out if I had anything life theatening and all they wanted to talk about was the skin cancer, the arthritus, and the glaucoma. I already new about those things. All I got from the doctors was broke, what can I do now?
I have taken several prescriptions of penicillin and other antibiotics for the pnuemonia, and from the dentist, but none of these have had any effect on the pain and swelling.
Use either an ice pack or wrap some ice cubes in a thick towel and apply it on the neck. This home remedy is the most effective in case the pain is caused by an injury. Ice can also help in decreasing the swelling, if any.Alternate hot and cold therapies are great ways to soothe the pain in the neck. After applying a cold compress to the neck, it is best to follow it up with the application of a heating pad to the same area. In case you do not have a heating pad, you could take a hot shower instead.
