Occasionally (every few months or so) I have light blood in my urine. It's accompanied by burning in the tip of my penis.

Posted by tomothy81

I first noticed this about 3 years ago, but it was only temporary and lasted less than a day. I didn't have any problems for another few years. This is very occasional, and has the condition only arrises every few months or more. I've also been on the prescription Xanax for the past 10 years or so. I also noticed this after poking my wife with my erect penis.

Blood in the urine is a indication of a infection in your Urinary system (Urinary tract, kidney, bladder etc..). Pain and burning at the tip of your penis would probably mean a Urinary tract infection (UTI) Urethritis which may be caused by a bacteria or a virus.

Microorganisms called Chlamydia (STD) may also cause UTIs in men, but these infections tend to remain limited to the urethra which is why you may not have a dischage. Chlamydia may be sexually transmitted, and infections require treatment of both partners.

If it is a STD you have, all sex partners should be evaluated, lab blood tested, and treated. Persons with a STD should abstain from sexual intercourse until they and their sex partners have completed treatment, otherwise re-infection is possible.

I would suggest you visited a urologist doctor and have this treated.  Click to locate a doctor near you.

Chlamydia can be easily treated by antibiotics if found in time.
