My dad (70 year old male) has a hernia on his belly button and we've known that for awhile. Today he noticed that there is bruising right above the belly button and he has stomach pain. Yesterday he carried something heavy and did some heavy drinking. Before he could push on the hernia and it was soft, but now it feels like there is a lot of pressure and it is hard. What could this be? Do we need to get him to the ER? Thank you.
