My tongue is full of canker soars. What can it be?

Posted by Greenwood23

I've gone over the thrush idea for a while, but it just doesn't seem that likely.  I had infected tonsils earlier in the week, and it seemed I had bit my tongue in the midnights sweats, didn't think much of it.  My tonsil's got bigger, and my tongue became sensitive to me brushing my teeth, and would bleed pretty badly if I brushed.  I don't have any white kurd like build ups, but my tongue was discolored white from being sick.. So I don't believe it be Thrush.. Any ideas?

Soars on the tongue could arise from many causes ranging from a bacterial infection to cancer.

Possible sores, on tongue causes: oral herpes simplex infection, canker sores, Tuberculosis, bacterial infections, or early-stage syphilis. It could also be an immune system problem or an allergy.

The cause can usually be determined within the context of careful history taking, lab testing and examination. Please keep these causes in mind during your next visit to the doctor and try to raise these possibilities.
