Mumps is a notifiable disease and it is an offence to knowingly be infected and put others at risk.
The mumps virus is spread from person to person through coughs and sneezes, by droplet spread and by kissing.
What can you do?
Stay away from that person and no close contact with that person if possible.
Check, with your GP whether you should have a vaccine shot.
Tell your friends to do the same.
