I have rectus diastasis that won't allow me to lay on my sides or my stomach to sleep . Why is that ?

I have to sleep almost sitting up with several pillows just to relieve some of the pain . The Dr's around here say that it isn't operable but it goes from my the top of my breast bone all the way down to my belly button . It is very painful to me . How can I get this problem taken care of ?
