Protein in your urine sample:
The most common cause of this is an infection in the urine – cystitis. The protein is caused by bacteria.
It is likely that your doctor will want to send a sample of your urine to the bacteriology lab to exclude this.
The only other likely case is an inflammation of the kidney – this is called 'nephritis' or 'glomerulonephritis'.
In most cases this is a mild, self-limiting problem which will resolve itself. However, it needs to be watched carefully by monitoring blood and urine tests.

I really appreciate the opportunity to ask questions here as I am confused: I have a low red blood count and normal hemoglobin, so I am confused about what this means. I have read about anemia, but what I have researched says that I should also have low hemoglobin for anemia. My white blood cell count is good, too. I did have protein in my urine sample, too. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you.
