Almost all of us have been through a time when Life can so easily get ahead of us. It's true. While some philosophers believe that these things are meant to happen, some folks rue their earlier actions that has led to the situation that they find themselves in. While this might sound like some hocus-pocus mumbo jumbo, things might just clear up as soon as soon as you understand this example.
Just recently, a colleague of mine confided in me saying that the reason why he came down with 'ulcers' not so long ago was because of his not eating breakfast, as the doctors had informed him, and now he has to eat a full meal every morning in order to prevent those ulcers from acting up again.
It's a pity but this is just one story of how neglecting one's health can come back to bite you in the ass. And if you're of these types, then it's time to action! I'm sorry, but in matters of health, such as this… blaming it on fate doesn't really help.
A Breakfast of Champions, quite literally…
Yes, we all know that work is important. Hell, that's what pays the bills these days. But what's the point if you earn all that money just to pour it back into medical bills and so on and so forth?
That's the truth of the situation!
If one analyzes the origin of the word "breakfast", it merely means breaking the fast, and if you don't eat before you leave to work… what you end up doing is extending the period when your stomach hasn't had any work to do, and your body suffers as a result from a lack of energy that doesn't help you to perform at your best at work, assuming you do have a full-time job. What makes this so silly is that work is one of the reasons why you don't eat breakfast in the first place. Now if miss lunch, that makes things worse… as portion control will mean nothing by dinner time!
So, eat breakfast… please… or else you'd find yourself struggling with unpleasant stomach issues (at the least!) in the days ahead.
Easy Breakfast Recipes
And in order to make this easier for you, here are some easy (and healthy) breakfast recipes that one can try, keeping in mind the time factor:
1) Yoghurt with fruit
Ingredients: 1 cup – Apples (chopped), ½ cup – Raisins, 1 cup – Seedless grapes, 2 cups – Banana (sliced), 1 cup – Berries, 2 cups – Plain or vanilla low fat yogurt
Preparation: One can make this in no time. All you have to do is mix the fruits and put the yoghurt on top of it. And enjoy!
2) Grapefruit drink
Ingredients: Grapefruit juice and orange, two teaspoons of honey, 1 cup of fresh strawberries, 1/2 cup sliced strawberries (as toppings)
Preparation: Mix the grapefruit and orange juice, honey and strawberries in a blender. Blend it until it becomes a "smoothie", and then add the sliced strawberries as toppings.
Ingredients: Two eggs, (optional) vegetables like Brussel sprouts, broccoli, mixed peppers and baby spinach, (optional) meat such as tuna, ground and minced beef, sliced and ground chicken, nacon and tuna, cheese and spices such as black pepper, cumin and sea salt.
Preparation: Almost everyone knows how to make an omelette but just for this to not become boring, you can either add veggies or meat to the omelette to change the routine a bit.
All in all, in one being good to themselves, they can save themselves a lot of frustration in the long run.
