I am 40 and play hockey (goalie) once a week. 10 days ago I experienced extreme pain after stretching too far. The doctor assured me that it wasn't a hernia but, my sleep has been interupted ever since. Rolling over or sudden movement brings intense pain. Walking is fine as long as I maintain a short deliberate stride. If I lengthen my stride, the pain can bring me to my knees. I'm in relatively good shape and do have a history of pulled groins (college hockey). With that said, I've never experienced this type of accute pain for such an extended period.
