bladder lesion

MRI came back that they found a bladder lesion originally identified through CT Scan as a Polypoid Mass.  I am a American, Male, 52.  Saw the urologist today and he wants to scope to examine before saying anything further.  Does this make sense?  What questions should I be asking?
