Beyond the Hip Replacement: Tom Watson

Pro-golfer Tom Watson may be surprising a lot of people, but he may also be giving a lot of hope - to those who need to have hip replacements but who fear what may happen after.

TOM WATSON The 59-year-old golfer had a hip replacement done less than a year ago. And now, he’s leading in a prestigious golf tournaments, the British Open - one from which golf greats like Tiger Woods have been cut. Mr. Watson has won this tournament five times, most recently 26 years ago, when younger golf fans weren’t born yet.

If Mr. Watson does win the British Open, he’ll be breaking a major record. Up to now, the oldest man to win a major golf tournament is Julius Boros who won the 1968 U.S. PGA title.
