Are genital warts contagious after cryotherapy but before the scab has fallen off?

Posted by Redban

Once cryotherapy has taken place, it usually takes between 1 and 3 weeks for the scab to heal.  How contagious are those areas before healing takes place?  Is the genital wart already dead?  Is it still active even though it has been burned?

Since the virus is the cause of your Genital Warts, Cryotherapy (freezing off the wart with liquid nitrogen) removal is merely taking away the appearance of the symptom and not curing the cause nor is it ridding the genital wart contagious proprieties.

Contagious capabilities have not ceased. What's more is that new warts inevitably take the place of those which have been removed.

Because the virus can lie dormant in the cells, in some cases warts can return months or even years after treatment. In other cases, warts never recur.
