8 Most common types of headaches: Guide to diagnosis and cure

In normal circumstances, an individual has a headache that might not be severe. However, some individuals have headache more frequently and that too of severe intensity. You may be surprised to know that 8 distinct type of headaches exist and all of these have distinct causes, severity and treatment procedure.

1.) Migraine headache
One of the most common headache, Migraine attacks are frequent and that too at unusual hours. Nausea, vision sensitivity to sound and light and vomiting are associated with migraine. 7.) Cluster headaches
This is another severe form of headache and the patient feels as if a cluster hangs in the head. The situation gets complicated at times as the patient feels wave or cluster formation like headache and this can occur at any time of the day.

Low magnesium intake is the best medication in such cases as this opens up the constricted blood vessels. Oxygen therapy is a viable remedy for this kind of headache.

8.) Tension associated headache
The most common form of headache, tension related headaches can occur due to fatigue, hunger and tension of any form. Ibuprofen and acetaminophen are the most common medications that can be taken for curing tension associated headaches.

Headaches come in distinct form and have varied reasons for occurrence too. Consulting the doctor in case the headache persists is the best course to follow in standard conditions.
