It took months to correctly diagnose me back in 1962. They never did figure out what caused it. I'm pretty sure it was a Staph infection thought that caused the initial infection. My pain now is managed with high doses of pain medication.
I'm sorry you have to endure this awful disease. I have not had any surgeries in the last 20 years but I sure hope things have changed and you have a better outcome than I did.
