Why water?. You need to drink plenty of water after you have had a massage because your sore, tight muscles are holding onto lactic acid and other waste products also known as toxins. during a massage these toxins are forced from the muscles and circulation is increased. Now these nasty wastes are running through your body at a higher rate than normal. The purpose of drinking more water is to flush the waste out of your body quickly and efficiently. Drinking water is the best way to encourage this flushing. If your water intake is not sufficient after a massage, you could experience soreness, fatigue, nausea and or general malise. This is the body's way of saying, "get this stuff outta here!"
