Sports/therapeutic massage -- looking for recommendations

Hi,
I've always enjoyed getting massages, but it seems that the only times I've gotten them on any regular basis was when I was in physical therapy (sprained ankle, Achilles tendonitis, etc.). In part, it's because I'm unsure which type of massage would be most appropriate, but it's also because I'm cautious to just walk into a random massage studio.
Can you recommend which types of massage are appropriate to help with general recovery from sports (and specifically helping to loosen tight hamstrings)? Also, recommendations for studios/practitioners near to Mountain View/Palo Alto/Stanford would be very appreciated.
