Massage Therapy vs Pampering Therapy

Posted May 04 2010 11:31am

Your Body Needs is a massage therapy studio – but we are not a spa. We don’t use terms such as “treat” or “pamper” to refer to our massages. There are still many people who think of spa locations when they need a massage. A spa is often the choice should you be looking to take a few hours off and relax with a robe and perhaps a light refreshment. Some of the choices at spas will be a massage of sorts. Most of the time, their massages tend to be light touch and have an assembly line feel to them. This is fine if it works for you and you don’t mind paying premium prices when all you need is a good massage.  A good massage is one that is right for your body. It should start with a conversation about the treatment you will be receiving that day between you and your therapist and you should feel a part of the treatment process. So, if your body is feeling tired and sore - it isn’t pampering that you need- your body needs to be worked on. Massage therapy is highly effective in the promotion of your health and preventive maintainance. You should take the time to find the right massage business for you. Leave the spa treatments for when you need some pampering.
