Remove jewelry. Your jewelry could make you uncomfortable or cause you to be scratched
See your doctor if. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant, have cancer, fragile skin, heart problems, or any serious skin disorder
Speak up. If the therapist does anything you do not like, speak up!. It is your time and the therapy should progress as you direct it.
There are few risks. Massage therapy has very few risks if provided by a trained therapist -- so give it a try
Try a massage school. If there is a massage school near you, they may offer massages at very affordable rates
Use a tennis ball. For back spasm: Lie on your back with a tennis ball between you and the carpet. Move your back so the ball gently rolls over tight muscles
Wear loose clothes. Unless you will disrobe for the massage, your clothes should be comfortable and loose
Why people get massages. In a national survey, 60% said they believed massage would help them, when combined with conventional medical therapies
Aspire to meditate. Develop your inner voice that tells you when it's time to meditate.
Attend a class. Attend a meditation class to learn the basics and get started with your daily practice.
