Buff your way to healthy nails

Want healthy nails without adding weird chemicals, plastics and toxic fumes to the mix? Get in the habit of buffing your nails. Whether you are a woman or a man (don’t worry, you won’t get a Guys and Dolls card shark look), you will benefit from boosting the circulation in your digits.

There are basically two kinds of buffers: one that is made of foam rubber and abrasives (cheap) and one that is chamois. The cheap one doesn’t last long, but has different grains and can get your nails very shiny. The chamois one is natural, lasts longer and leaves a more low key gleam.

You can get fancy by buffing with special creams or a little olive oil. Also, with buffing, you don’t have to wait for your nails to dry. Just buff each nail about 20 strokes once a week.
