Lavender is a relaxing scent, and there are other relaxing scents. Sometimes, you want to use essential oils during massage for reasons other than relaxation, for example, peppermint to help ease sore muscles. I have a post here with some aromatherapy massage blends: http://aromatherapy.bellevuemassagetherapy.com/2009/05/aromatherapy-massage-oil-recipes.html. I also recommend the Essential Oils Desk Reference.
Relaxing Lavender. For me lavender is the most relaxing scent. When I'm having a stressful day, I use my lavender scented lotion. It helps me to relax. I thought it just brought back memories hof how relaxed I was at my last massage. But it turns out there is scientific proof to back it up. Clinical studies indicte that it reduces anxiety and pain. Even just the scent.

What are the best oils/scents to use for aromatherapy in conjunction with massage? Are there certain aromas that promote relaxation?
