Two great classes. I'm still having just a nagging pain in my lower back, which sometimes progresses to nagging pain with stiffness. I think it might be the chair I settle into with a glass of red wine... or scotch... in the evening to watch TV. Okay. So, maybe it's not the chair.
Anyway, I left both classes feeling really good. I'm starting to pull half-guard to start matches in sparring, working for a deep underhook, concentrating on staying up on my side. I figure my half-guard will improve, and as I get passed, my guard recovery and side control escapes/defense will also get better.
I had a great night sparring. I went with a couple of blue belts early, big Matt and little James (who isn't all that little, but is much smaller than Coach... who is also James). Worked with a couple of white belts and then in open mat picked up with another blue belt. I left tired, which is good.
My wife is in town for the next few weeks, so I'm hoping to make it to class at least 3 or 4 times per week while I can.
