Do you have an opinion (or advice) on using magnesium for controlling epileptic seizures? (for my daughter age nearly 2 years of age)

In reading your statements about junk foods like "Cheerios", I am confused. The facts show that its Glycemic Load is low, its protein quality of milk & Cheerios provide all 9 essential amino  acids, Cheerios are fortified with the vitamins & minerals you recommend, and Both Milk & Cheerios contain Omega-3 Fatty Acids. Yet, you still regard it as "Junk Food". Why?

I have been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and someone suggested it is an allergy to yeast.  Have you any experience with IC and could it indeed be due to yeast allergy?  It came about shortly after I moved to Singapore and before that I have been healthy all my life (40+ years).  I am worried that living here (hot humid moldy climate) is going to make me worse.  Any thoughts?

I tested positive for a small amount of THC on a random drug test and I don't smoke. I have been around people who do smoke. Is it possible that something I ate could have caused this. I am an RN and am now afraid my license will be suspended.

I would love some articles on candida, as I believe that is what I am suffering from.  My medical Dr. at the Genesis clinic in Hiawatha ( Cedar Rapids) suburb is treating me with low dose antifungal prescription med and diet.  I am still fairly miserable ( more than fairly a lot of the time).

And is there a good brand of Vit D3 and also calcium and magnesium.  I want something that is good quality and effective.

Thank you!!!!

`Hi Dr. Mark

I read you article about autism. I have been ill for 5 years now, but no therapist seem to have the correct knowlegde. Tests have been performed and undoubtedly I have leaky gut. My D-lactate is sky-high, and candida has been ascertained. Do you do long-distance treatment. I have an organix test as well as other tests performed. I would very much appreciate your reply to my e-mail address: dkh@webspeed.dk. I live in Denmark,43-year old female.

Thanking you for your reply in advance. I really need to have en overview of my situation now.

Regards

Hi  My name is Al I’m 41 y/o Male.  5'10 175 lbs trim,  Lifetime if physical fitness and mod activity  I work out 3-4 times a week mostly weight lifting but a little cardio too. Both my grandfathers died of heart attacks in their 50's and 60's and both of  my parents have heart disease and have had bypass surgeries. I wanted to write because I am concerned about my blood tests... In 2006 CBC- chol total 161, Trigly 98, HDl 36,  LDL 105 ALT 36, AST 32, CRP 1.3 Glucose 90 In 2009 CBC Chol total 170, Trigly 117, HDL 30, LDL 117, ALT 48, AST 33, CRP 1.5 Gluose 100 I also have slightly low testosterone, Free 1.17.  Is there a link? I feel as if my GP is not doing enough to help me, What type of specialist should I see? Can you kindly respond and let me know what I can do to help improve my numbers and lifespan? Are there any lifestyle books you can recommend for people with my metabolic condition?

Thanks you so much for your time

for the past month,my 16 yr old daughter has suffered from an exteme episode of continuous migraine; she hasn't been able to get out of bed.she has never had a migraine prior to this in her life. completly healthy, no physical problems prior, we eat a "whole foods diet" and contrary to the rest of the world; we have a great relationship and great homelife (former neouroligst said it is all stress  related and she is depressed; refused to think othewise) This dr. tried all of the "standard" medications, steriods, triptans, rx that limits blood flow, and nothing worked. She just underwent a tlp (no fluid drawn after 7 punctures) after which we had to taker her to er to manage the pain (level ='s 1-10) she had a 10 until given large dose of morphine and other pain killers. has been in hospital 5 days w/o any improvement and she is being released today on "tylenol"; still has 8-9 pain. we are at our wits end (we have a new dr.) LA childrens hospital wait is 3-4 months.
