A couple of phone calls and some muscle testing has brought all of us to the conclusion that the herb, Red Root, that I started taking a few weeks ago along with my other herbal antibiotics ~and that I have slowly increased the past two weeks, is attacking the Babesia in my body. Babesia is a co-infection ~ a parasite that presents itself a lot like Malaria.. The die off symptoms ~ herxing~ can be brutal and mine has me struggling to be upright and functional. Just knowing that I am in a new battle and that the herbs and my immune system have the upper hand gives me the hope I need to keep fighting.
So besides the past month's tests and doctor appointments, etc. my body is working hard to rid itself of another bug....To add to this mix, is a subject that is not often talked about in voices loud enough to hear in public. The quiet knowledge that Lyme can be and is sexually transmitted. Those who know and are trying to help us heal think that Joel continues to reinfect me....so we will do something to remedy that. I only bring this very personal subject up because it needs to be addressed so that others may protect themselves from being infected or reinfected.
