Saturday's Scribbles

Posted Mar 23 2013 12:55pm
Good Saturday morning to you from frigid Iowa where there is no sign of Spring!  Winds, cold temperatures and more snow this week have produced a bit of cabin fever for us Upper Midwesterners.....I am sure that all the plants beneath the ground are getting as impatient as we are for warmer weather and an official Spring forecast!

Speaking of Spring, I celebrated my 65th birthday on the first day of Spring.  I was really struggling with this one until I remembered that when I was turning 60 Joel and I were excited because there were times we were worried I would not live to be 60.  So, yay for 65, Medicare, and the best days of my life that are yet to come!!  It was a quiet day for me, but many phone calls, Facebook greetings, cards, and Joel made it special.

Speaking of Medicare~~actually scribbling over to medications, I learned that New Zealand and America are the only countries that allow ads for drugs on the TV.  Interesting.  With so many ads for medications saturating our media, the pharmaceutical companies must be making billions.

I have decided I will need to replace this blog since Wellsphere still won't let me into my account....nor answer my emails.  I don't want them publishing my blog posts anymore nor do I want to be part of their group, but I am tired of pushing for them to remove my information, so will just close this out and begin a new blog.....I will leave this one up for quite awhile and direct people to the new one once I get it set up.

We have been watching The Bible on the History Channel, but it has been so violent in parts that we changed the channel last week.  It seems like they are showing more of the fighting and brutality that can be found in the Bible and not enough on some of the others stories told. Have you noticed that their angels are down right scary too?   This series has made the Biblical stories come to life, but it definitely is NOT for young children or squeamish adults!

Did I tell you how Levi was treated in his home away from home when we were gone?  It was the first time in probably 10 years that he stayed overnight somewhere else.....he was really happy to see Joel when he went to pick him up, but the pictures they sent us while we were gone let us know he was pampered more than a little bit during his visit...And YES that is Levi sitting at the table having breakfast with his caretaker!  I think this is a set up to shock did! Seriously, this would not happen at home.....but we had to laugh!

We have not watched any movies and not many TV shows this week.  Did see Dancing With The Stars.   I have started the 6th Guidepost Book and finished up Your Healing Door by Pastor Mohr.  I am so in need of some meatly fiction and TV to lose myself in for awhile.

Until next time............
