Good Saturday morning readers! It is a warm day here in our corner of the world with a high near 60 forecast for tomorrow and Monday! The climate sure seems to be changing in the upper Midwest. We will take all the warmer days we can, because winter will eventually grace us with snow and cold.
Speaking of snow and cold, I can honestly say, I am tired of winters and the idea of being snowbirds is inviting! I have started a bucket list, and having a Mini-Winnie RV to travel to the SW, CA, and other places in winter is at the top! I managed to get all our Christmas decorations up, and Joel and I decorated our tiny tree for inside. Joel is putting up our deck tree and decorating the porch railing with lights today. I was also able to get our Christmas newsletter written this week, plus I ordered a photo card for the first time in years. It already arrived by FedEx this morning, so I can now get busy sending everything off to friends and family. It has been too many years since we have seen some of our friends. That brings me right back to that Mini-Winnie RV on my bucket list, doesn't it!
We have been listening to Christmas music.....Lady Antebellum and Celtic Women are our new favorites. Then there is the old Alabama Christmas music we used to play when it was tree decorating time with the family. We have a Cd now, but we bought a cassette tape years ago before Cd's ever existed. Joel and I still play it when we decorate our tiny tree, even though it brings up both feelings of joy and sadness for what was and what is.
It seems to be one of those days. I woke up with that old heavy gravity feeling that has been gone since last May. It is not acceptable. Then Joel had downloaded a manual on his computer and it kept us from getting into everything. After a half hour of searching and attempting to get rid of it, we were able to uninstall it and all is well. Not so with our reverse osmosis system......it needed a new handle. It took weeks longer than they told us to get the part, but it finally arrived. After Joel spent a long time under the sink with his instructions and tools, the new faucet is in...........and leaking. My hubby is really good at fixing things, but this one has him baffled, so we decided to come back to it another time. It is just one of those days where something is off kilter in the universe,
Earlier this week we noticed ice forming on the edges of the river. I am still able to walk daily, although when the temperature gets below 20 it is a bit chilly! This weekend we will not need to worry about that, and I expect the ice has melted already.
I have been watching more of those great Hallmark Christmas movies, and I am reading the book, "The Essential Guide to Healing" by Bill Johnson and Randy Clark and the book "Yes, Lord" by Harold Bredesen. What are you reading?
