Saturday's Scribbles

Posted Nov 24 2012 6:09pm
Good Saturday Afternoon to you!  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  We had beautiful weather with a high of 70 on Wednesday, and 68 degrees on Thursday.  Friday's high was only 30 and today we had trouble getting up to 20.  Big change!

Speaking of change, what a difference from this year to year when Joel was only around the family for 2 hours before heading up to bed due to audio sensory problems.  Now, no problems at all.  We both managed to keep up with everyone, enjoy all the fun and games, and are still on our feet after having 20 here for Thanksgiving and an early Christmas.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, ours was wonderful with our children, in-loves, and grandchildren here to grace our home starting Wednesday afternoon. A couple of families left Friday afternoon, the rest then stayed until after brunch and a walk together to the river on Saturday. There was the annual football game outside, a big dinner, swimming at the hotel pool, cribbage and yahtzee games, and our latest addition was a hit...the Wii.

We received a Wii for Christmas from our son, dil, and grandkids on Thursday and they set it up for us.  The grandkids loved it, but I confess I really got into the bowling game.  I realized I was a bit hooked on it when my right arm got tired from playing so I just switched to my left arm and kept right on going!  I used to bowl on a team years ago and it all came back to me.  I.love.it.  Joel is into the archery, and I am planning to learn the basketball one too.  We also have the Wii Fit so maybe we will get in better shape!

We received so many nice presents from everyone, but most important of all we were blessed with their presence.  What better gift could we ask for!

We are looking at where we were last year in comparison to now, and the changes have been so drastic.  We have much to be thankful for.  Friends, healing for Joel and progressive healing for me, a deeper and more expanded faith, Joel being able to work again, my walks to the river and beyond~~~ And most important of all~~Family.  There is nothing more important in this world.

I end this post wishing you the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of family and friends, the JOY of the Lord, and the PEACE that passes understanding.
